Welcome to Great Polish Music

They say that music is an international language. So true. Music transcends all barriers of culture, nationality, race, language, religion, and even politics.  Music means different things to each of us - it inspires, entertains, and allows us to express ourselves. It is unifying, powerful, and eloquent. Music is freedom of thought and spirit - it can never be suppressed! But the most important thing about music is that it enriches the quality of our lives, in mind, heart and soul.  Music is Life.

Great Polish Music is a new blog created solely for the purpose of celebrating great Polish composers and musicians. (Of which there are plenty! ) Though I appreciate and value the contribution of many great composers from every nation, it was not without a bit of consternation that I discovered how little the world knows of Polish composers and musicians. But have no fear, you will discover them here!

This blog, Great Polish Music, will be inaugurated by a special premier series highlighting the work and contributions of great Polish composers of the 18th and 19th centuries. But this blog will not be limited to classical music. In due time, I will also showcase some of the great contemporary Polish musicians excelling in every genre of music: opera, choral, rock, pop, jazz, hip-hop, punk, country, house, electro, goth, ska, and even Polish reggae!

Even if you don't understand the Polish language, it doesn't really matter!  Music is an
international language!

Where words fail, music speaks.
